The City of Cheyenne is requesting residents  stay out of city parks until the storm that has dropped record amounts of snow in the area passes.  The heavy wet snow is causing trees to drop limbs, and even toppling over entire trees in city parks, creating some hazardous conditions.

The spring snow storm dumped a record 11inches of snow on the Cheyenne area Thursday and continued snowing into Friday.  Snow amounts were more at higher elevations between Cheyenne and Laramie, which forced the closure of Interstate 80 most of day Thursday and into Friday.

There have also been power outages in parts of the community.
