Man in Custody After Stabbing Incident

On January 26, 2021 around 9:00 p.m. Cheyenne Police Officers responded to a report of a stabbing.

While en-route to the call, officers were notified that the suspect, later identified as Antonio Landeroz, 19, of Cheyenne, had fled the scene in his mother’s black Nissan.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers located the victim, Landeroz’s mother, who had sustained life-threatening injuries. American Medical Response (AMR) began treatment for multiple stab wounds and transported her to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center (CRMC). Her condition is unknown at this time.

Responding officers immediately contained and canvassed the scene for witnesses. A short time later, Cheyenne Police Detectives responded and assumed the investigation.

At approximately 10:30 p.m. Cheyenne Police Officers were contacted by Eaton Colorado Police who observed Landeroz driving the black Nissan. He was taken into custody and transported to the Weld County jail where he was booked for two counts of felony eluding, speeding, and resisting arrest.
Additional felony charges are pending as this case remains under investigation by the Cheyenne Police Department.
