Two committees are discussing how to allow Wyoming’s secretary of state, state auditor and state treasurer to keep offices in the state Capitol building in Cheyenne following renovation work.
State Treasurer Mark Gordon, Secretary of State Max Maxfield and Auditor Cynthia Cloud all say they want their offices to be in the Capitol. The governor’s office also is in the Capitol, while the state superintendent of public instruction is in the nearby Hathaway Building.
Elected officials say they want to keep close to the action during the legislative session.
The Casper Star-Tribune reports The Advisory Task Force on Capitol Building Rehabilitation and Restoration, and the Capitol Building Restoration Oversight Group, plan to discuss the upcoming Capitol renovations this week.
The $259 million project is scheduled to begin next year.
